Originally founded in the early 1980s by Hayik Goren, an immigrant, the shop was born from grit and perseverance. After arriving in Canada, Hayik began as an apprentice at York Mills Automotive. When the business faced bankruptcy in 1983, he and his partners stepped in to save it—laying the foundation for a family-run shop known for honesty, hard work, and technical expertise. For decades, the Goren family built a reputation rooted in community values and quality service.

About a year ago, The next chapter began when Louie Riccelli took over ownership. With a vision rooted in growth and community, Louie didn’t just see a business—he saw a legacy waiting to be elevated. As the owner of North Seven Auto body —another respected shop located in Vaughan Ontario with decades of family history—Louie brought generations of experience and deep ties to the local automotive scene. His family has proudly owned and operated North Seven Auto body at their location for over 50 years, making him no stranger to the dedication it takes to build something that lasts.

Rather than taking the journey alone, Louie extended an incredible opportunity to Bav, a driven individual with a deep passion for cars and a dream to grow in Canada. Louie offered Bav co-ownership, not just as a business move, but as a gesture of belief in talent and loyalty.

Together, Louie and Bav began transforming York Mills Automotive—not only maintaining the shop’s solid reputation, but pushing it to new heights. Under their leadership, it has become more than just a mechanic shop; it’s become a symbol of second chances, new beginnings, and the kind of trust that turns colleagues into family.
